Ms Wilshaw

Probably one of the most feared English teachers of all time – yet undoubtedly one of the best – Ms Wilshaw’s name is well known throughout STM, a name which some fear, a name which some admire.  Whether it’s Shakespeare or Heaney, Steinbeck to Golding, it cannot be denied that she knows her literature. Just make sure you’re in her good books…

To be fair to her, she hasn’t made many of those little errors that slip from one’s mouth, but here are just a few that I picked up on:

·        Student: “Oh my God!”

Ms. Wilshaw’s reply: “No, I am not your God. You may revere and fear me, but I am not your God”.

·         “We’ve ansled … ansled? Answered …”

·        “Now … why did we start taking about this?”

(After about 5-10mins of talking about wind turbines)

·        “If your blood is not coursing through our veins, you’re not working hard enough!”

·        "Alan [Lee] always writes 'head teacher' as two words and I've always written it as one.

He says NO-ONE in Liverpool writes it like that.

But we're not in Liverpool, are we?"
